After a lifetime of creating for other people, I decided to make something for myself. In my previous life, I studied painting in college, worked as a sportswear designer in New York, owned and operated a jewelry company and worked in interior design. I was always a bit removed from the product, because I felt that a good designer creates for their customer. The Illustrated Cocktail is a project that was not created for anyone specifically. It evolved because I showed the world, through my Instagram feed, what I had been doing for years in private, and people responded and wanted more. It’s not so much about the cocktail recipe, we can all get that information on the internet, its about the experience of looking through a beautiful book and being inspired by it. That is what this book means to me.
